Hello el Jefé! Glad to see you chime in here. You'll have to remember that when speaking of the small four indie HD camera choices, I'm speaking MOSTLY of feature production. In a sense, it is my TRUE feeling that shooting a film in the Z1U's native interlaced format at 1080i is going to be more attractive for distributors and theater goers than the DVX 100b SD at 24p. 1080i is going to give you more distribution options in the future, and therefore I feel SD and MD (medium def) cameras are poor FINANCIAL choices, rather than artistic choices. Sure, if you can get the 100b or JVC to work for you/ pay for itself in the meantime - great. But how about 12 months from now, when you'd really like to be shooting on HD or your new client wants HD (shit, YOU'VE already run into this situation - could owning the Z1U been more lucrative for you)? Will you think back and see the thousands of dollars you spent and now wish your gear was paid for? Most people with limited resources will say yes. I standby that comment 100%.
