Josh, that's funny! Good job, and you're right to keep banging out these specs. Thanks for the kick in the ass. Get ready for one from me shortly (I did the post work on a PSA that Laszlo Kovacs shot last week) :-)))))

PS: I need to talk to you at some point about cameras.

Neither.

The idea with doing SPEC ads is to make REAL commercials without getting paid (and with no budget) to show agencies/ companies that I deserve a budget and should get paid to make REAL ads for them.

The purpose of the SPEC, at least for me, is not to pitch the ad agencies ideas - rather, the SPECS that I create are to pitch my talents.

As far as securing locations/ finding talent to work for free.....its the most difficult part of the process. $$$ buys time and access - lack of $$$ just means you have to work harder up front (in pre-production) to get things for cheap or free.

Hi,

When you shoot these spec ads, is the idea that they will buy and use the actual ad you created, or hire you to do a "real" version of the ad?

How much trouble (or $) is it get to use a location like this golf course for something like this?
