Ha - that's funny: I didn't really think about the proper usage of elope until now. Here's what I just pulled off Wikipedia.

--
Today the term is colloquially used for any hasty marriage or one performed away from home with few (if any) guests.

That works, right?

No need to feel inferior, Pat. That Elph still has 24p, doesn't it? 24p is all that really matters - in life.

Kick butt camera man. I actually walked into a CostCo this morning after reading your entry and they had a pallet of these babies for $1299.

Can't wait to see some pics.

You cannot elope if you are planning to do it 4 months in advance.

Adding an SLR to your visual arsenal is a great move, and not just for stills ifyouknowwhatI'msayin...
I'm not sure what the Nikon remote capture abilities are like, but it's simple enough to make an interval timer. Just make sure you set the lens aperture manually (by turning the aperture ring, not just setting it electronically in the menu). Electronically set aperture has quite a bit of variance between frames, so you'll get a flickering effect which is an absolute bastard to remove in post.
