Hey man,

I got to give you much love for doing your thing, one of the things I appreciate about your site is the energy and commitment to getting somewhere.

Got a couple emails about SPEC ADS - to clarify:

I'm shooting the SPECS for my DIRECTOR's REEL because I'm actively seeking a DIRECTOR'S agency to pick me up.

Neither.

The idea with doing SPEC ads is to make REAL commercials without getting paid (and with no budget) to show agencies/ companies that I deserve a budget and should get paid to make REAL ads for them.

The purpose of the SPEC, at least for me, is not to pitch the ad agencies ideas - rather, the SPECS that I create are to pitch my talents.

As far as securing locations/ finding talent to work for free…..its the most difficult part of the process. $$$ buys time and access - lack of $$$ just means you have to work harder up front (in pre-production) to get things for cheap or free.

Hi,

When you shoot these spec ads, is the idea that they will buy and use the actual ad you created, or hire you to do a "real" version of the ad?

How much trouble (or $) is it get to use a location like this golf course for something like this?
