Great idea and, as usual, very well executed.

as always, nice edit. but if you want that DGA card, try shooting some dialogue/humor. by the way, the DGA has an excellent insurance and pension plan! you’re gonna love it.

You know one of the things I’ve been wrestling with- and I hate to admit it- for short commercial spots etc it’s quite possible the panny really slams that sony z1 in at least one very important way: render time. I just finished a spot for a client on the z1 and once I used Nattress filters to deinterlace and give it a film look the little booger took almost an hour to render on my dual 2.7GHz Mac.
I’m just talking speed of execution. Which, really, is something I’m starting to think a lot about with these smaller projects I’m doing.

Na’ Pat, you make a really good point about post turn around with the DVX compared to the Z1. I’m with you 100% - in terms of execution speed (where post speed is critical, and HD is not necessary) - the DVX wins in my book.
